Monocoque
in Fiberglass
One mold, one piece, zero weak points. At Hotomobil, the entire living cell is molded as a single fiberglass body — with no joints to loosen, no seams to leak and no panels to age.
A monocoque cell is produced from a unique fiberglass mold as one seamless shell: a sandwich of fiberglass and expanded polyurethane that carries its own strength, with no wood to rot and no metal to conduct the cold.
The Fiberglass Sandwich Structure
The shell of a monocoque body is built as a three-layer sandwich: an outer fiberglass skin, a core of high-density polyurethane foam insulation and an inner fiberglass skin. The result is a self-supporting structure that needs no internal frame.
Inside this structure there are no wooden parts — which can absorb moisture and decompose over time — and no metal parts, which would act as thermal bridges and carry heat straight out of the cabin. What remains is a light, rigid and fully insulated shell that keeps its integrity for decades.
Why a Monocoque Body Has No Equal
Why Fiberglass?
Fiberglass is exceptionally strong, elastic and light at the same time. Its elasticity lets the shell absorb impacts — even hail — without permanent damage, while its rigidity protects the living cell on every journey. And unlike metal, fiberglass does not conduct heat: warmth stays inside in winter, and the cabin stays cool in summer.
- Strong, elastic and lightweight Absorbs impacts and resists hail while keeping overall weight low.
- Naturally insulating No heat conduction means stable interior temperatures in every season.
- Real energy savings Less heating and cooling effort compared to metal-walled constructions.
- Built to last No rust, no rot, no loosening panels — minimal maintenance over the years.
Why a Fiberglass Monocoque Matters
Thermal & Acoustic Insulation
The fiberglass-and-foam sandwich keeps interior temperatures stable in every season and muffles outside noise — comfort in summer heat and winter cold, with lower energy consumption.
Strength & Durability
With no joints, screws or bonded panels to work loose, the single fiberglass body shrugs off impacts, weather and wear — meaning less maintenance and a longer service life.
No Water Infiltration
Leaks are the most common failure in conventional campers. A body molded in one piece removes the risk at its root: there are simply no seams or critical points to seal.
Compact & Aerodynamic
Clean, molded lines without visible edges or trim improve road stability and reduce fuel consumption — while giving the vehicle a sleek, contemporary look.
Sustainability & Efficiency
Optimal insulation and low weight mean less energy for heating, cooling and driving — a smaller footprint without giving up the freedom of the road.
Proven in Production
Every Hotomobil monocoque cell passes waterproofing, electrical safety and interior durability tests, supported by independent laboratory quality control.
Molded, Not Assembled
Each living cell leaves its mold as one continuous body. What is never assembled can never come apart.
